NC: IT: Systems Development
The National Certificate in Information Technology Systems Development at NQF Level 5 is intended for individuals who have a foundational understanding of systems development and wish to deepen their Knowledge and skills in this area.
The program often includes more advanced topics, specialized programming languages, and an emphasis on developing complex software systems.
Module 1: Introduction to Information Technology
Explain the principles of business and the role of Information Technology. Demonstrate an awareness of ethics and professionalism for the computer industry in South Africa.
Module 2: Database Design, Implementation and Development
Demonstrate an understanding of Computer Database Management Systems. Demonstrate an understanding of sort and search techniques used in computer programming. Create database access for a computer application using structured query language. Demonstrate logical problem-solving and error-detection techniques
Module 4: Computer Systems Development
Apply information gathering techniques for computer systems development. Apply principles of creating computer software by
developing a complete program to meet given business specifications. Test a computer program against a given specification. Apply the principles of designing computer systems inputs and outputs.

Systems Development: NQF Level 4 or Grade 12

As a learner, you will engage in hands-on activities throughout this program that offer opportunities to practice and implement what you are learning. You will also have the opportunity to complete projects that create artifacts that will be useful to you in your personal and professional life.
